Next fall, all of my sons will be attending “new to them” schools for the first time.  College, Jr. High, Kindergarten, and Pre-School.

My son’s high-school track meet was canceled today “because of the wind”.  Apparently they don’t want the pole-vaulters blowing around.

I don’t suppose the sub-freezing wind chill factors have any thing to do with it.

It’s the name of one of my favorite books.  Written by D. A. Carson.  I met him once, after he spoke at Seminary, and I told him how much I enjoyed his book – to which he said that hadn’t heard that very often regarding that book, because it’s sort of technical and often “assigned” reading.  That’s me. 

My 2nd daughter, while printing a home work assignment, called to her younger sister across the room, “Hey!  I made you some scrap paper!”

I bet I could do that.

I’ve just completed a book written by Paul Duke regarding the use of irony in the 4th gospel. 

It is a very interesting read.

“Has a poor attitude.  Is thoughtful and cooperative with others.”

That’s a direct quote from my 13 year old daughter’s report card. 

It’s like a “snow day” – with rain instead of snow.

My son without his 1st, 16th, 17th, and 32nd teeth was bummed because he didn’t get to use their recent extraction as the reason to miss school today.

I’m writing this post while in class.  Someone somewhere thinks it is a good idea for students to give presentations to the class, so for 3 out of the 15 (3) hours class times in this course this semester, we all get to sit here and listen to one another and what we’re trying to learn, while the prof. who already knows it all sits silently writing notes.  I understand the need for participation, etc., and I’m sure I learned some extra things while preparing for my presentation, but I don’t think it was worth missing 9+ hours of Doctoral level content.

I wonder if the prof.  is posting during class too?
